Varied are the theories and the legends about Isle of Elba.
Several findings prove the life in the Isle since the stone age.
Well known by the Greeks for its mineral wealth, Isle of Elba becomes, throughout the millenniums, hankered destination for all the people aiming to exploit its huge potentialities.
Etruscans, Romans, Longobards, Saraceni and then until the 16th century when, as a consequence of its strategic geographical position, it was contention field for the numerous European Powers.
With the Fontainebleau pact, the Isle of Elba, together with the Piombino Princedom, had been assigned to Napoleon who lived there from the 3rd of May 1814 until the 26th of February 1815.
With the Wien Convenction, Elba was re admitted to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany and then unified in 1860 to the Kingdom of Italy.
At the beginning of the 1950ies the isle was discovered by the tourism; a valorisation and recreation period starts and the Isle becomes therefore, after many vicissitudes, one of the most hankered tourist destinations.
Elba is today a superb Island, characterized by its Natural Park, prestigious beaches, gulfs and crystalline water.

The restoration, which has been finished in 2006, has made the house ready to be divided into four separate apartments with independent entrance.
Just after the gate the road splits into two parts: on the right is accessable the ground floor and on the left the first level.
The road on the right surrounds the Villa and leads to a gate which encloses the entire property.
On the ground floor there are five door-window opening into a large panoramic terrace.
The first door leads to the living room. The second, as the actual main entrance of the house, opens in front of a staircase going up to the first floor.On the left of the entrance door there is a bright, spacious sitting room and on the right we find a cosy dining room with kitchen.
Just behind the staircase there is a small bathroom and opposite the door-window there is a cellar which can host up to 400 bottles.
The third, second and fourth door-windows give access respectively to: dining room, kitchen and studio.
Just after the last one we find a staircase leading to the rear of the Villa, a laundry room and a summer kitchen with grid and sink.
From the terrace which lies in front of the house the first floor of the Villa is accessable.A staircase from the first terrace leads to second one which is set on two floors and which enjoys a lovely sea view and gives to two bedrooms. One gives access to a large bathroom with shower.
A hallway goes to the staircase that links the first floor to the entrance door of the property.
Still on this floor there are: bathroom, bedroom with mezzanine floor, double bedroom with bathroom and separate entrance from outside.
The studio bedroom is only reachable from the outside area.
