| Description |
The small municipality of Piegaro has 3623 inhabitants and is placed 356 m above the sea level, on the river Nestore.
Piegaro lies on a hilly position, only one fifth of its land is flat. The most important relief is Montarale (853 m above the sea level). From here a marvellous 360 ° opens to Fabro and Orvieto.
In the heart of the town there is an old glasswork, which will soon become the Museum of Glass of Piegaro.
The name "Piegaro” seems to come from "Plagarium” (sore), which then changed to "Piagaio” and finally to the current name.
On the southern part of the Trasimeno Lake, 20 kms from Perugia and very close to Piegaro, stunning property immersed in 29 hectares wood and olive grove.
